Thomas F. Shebell, III
Thomas F. Shebell, III
Tom Shebell is committed to fighting for the NJ personal injury rights of those who have suffered harm. Born and raised in the Asbury Park area, Tom spent much of his boyhood years listening to his grandfather, father, and uncle discuss legal issues, and the impact that legal decisions can have on the lives of people.
Some of Tom’s most vivid memories stem from stories told over dinner by his father, Tom Shebell, Jr., about his own experiences trying both civil and criminal cases before Monmouth County jurors. Tom knew at a young age that he would never represent big business or insurance companies. To the contrary, he always knew that he would fight tirelessly for people incapable of fighting insurance companies, their employers, and big businesses.
After graduating from The Dickinson School of Law in 1991, Tom proudly clerked for Justice Daniel J. O’Hern, of the New Jersey Supreme Court. Early on in his career, Tom dedicated himself to the representation of regular people who suffered unfairly at the hands of insurance companies, corporations, and big business. To this day, Tom refuses to represent the interests of insurance companies, banks, employers, or big businesses.
Tom’s primary interest involves civil jury trial work, and he has achieved several notable verdicts and settlements throughout his eighteen-year career of fighting for the rights of injured people. (See recent results section.) He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the District IX Ethics Committee, and the Hayden Proctor Inns of Court.
Tom lives in the Boro of Fair Haven with his wife, Michelle, and their five children. In his spare time, Tom is passionate about bicycling, spending most spring and summer weekends racing throughout New Jersey, New York, and Vermont. He has incorporated his love for the sport into representing those injured while riding their bikes throughout New Jersey.
